Create a church space and a gathering
Sign in to create a church profile with its name, city, and description. The account that creates the church owns its space. Add the information your participants need, then create a gathering for a Bible study, small group, prayer circle, or another available category.
Give a gathering a specific name and describe who it is for. Include the schedule, whether it meets online or in person, and the Bible passage or study topic when you have one. Clear details are more useful to a newcomer than a title that assumes they already know your group.
Distinguish a group directory from a live room
A directory gathering describes an ongoing group. Its member capacity and schedule are separate from the live room used for a particular meeting. Live video study rooms support up to eight people at a time, even if a directory group has more members.
To meet online, start a live Bible study and share the current invitation link or six-character meeting code. A guest enters a display name and waits for the host to admit them. Camera and microphone begin off, so participants can get settled before choosing to speak or appear on video.
Prepare a useful first conversation
Choose a short passage and a question that everyone can consider. Use Sermons & Lessons to prepare your subject and teaching points, or use a beginner chapter lesson as a reading aid. Keep the Scripture reference visible so the group can check the explanation against the passage.
Plan time for questions and prayer. Video, chat, screen sharing, hand raising, and host admission controls help you manage the conversation. Optional notes and recordings should be explained before you use them.
- Invitation: Say when the group meets and which passage to read.
- Welcome: Explain the plan and give guests time to join.
- Reading: Read the passage before discussing its meaning.
- Conversation: Ask what the text teaches and what remains unclear.
- Next step: Agree on one application and the next meeting.
Choose visibility and sharing deliberately
Public church profiles and public gathering descriptions can be viewed by website visitors. Private gatherings are excluded from the public directory; the current release restricts private group management and access rather than promising an unrestricted private invitation system. Review the visibility shown in the form before saving.
Share room invitations with the people you intend to admit. A directory listing is not permission to expose private recordings or personal notes. Saved recordings remain private until their owner creates a sharing link, and each person’s study notebook belongs to their own account.
