Read the Bible in your preferred language

The installed Bible library has 20 editions across English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. Open My Study Room, choose a language and edition, then select a Bible book and chapter. The available wording depends on the edition you select.

In a live group, agree on the passage before discussing it. People can use familiar wording while keeping the same reference in view. When two editions phrase a verse differently, read the surrounding passage and discuss what the text is saying in context.

Understand the difference between Bible text and lessons

The chapter-by-chapter beginner lesson collection currently contains English lessons for all 1,189 chapters of the 66-book Bible. Choosing a French, Haitian Creole, or Spanish Bible does not translate every beginner lesson into that language. The Bible edition and the explanatory lesson are separate study materials.

Likewise, a dictionary entry is a reading aid rather than a replacement for the passage. Original-language information can help you ask better questions, but a word’s meaning depends on its use in context. Discuss difficult passages with a trusted teacher and compare the explanation with Scripture.

Use optional notes during a live study

Smart Notes offers English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. The host must first allow transcription of their microphone, and each participant independently turns on their own notes and chooses a notes language. This feature supports reviewing the teaching in a personal notebook.

Automated notes are not a substitute for an interpreter, and the site does not promise live interpretation of every participant’s conversation. Transcripts and generated notes can contain errors. Check names, references, and important explanations before relying on them or sharing them.

Plan a group with more than one reading language

Choose a short passage and tell participants which reference to open. Leave time for reading and for people to explain a question in words they know. A leader can summarize the main idea before moving to the next discussion point.

  • Share the Bible reference with the invitation.
  • Let each person select an available Bible edition.
  • Read a manageable portion and keep the wider chapter in view.
  • Pause to clarify wording before asking for an application.
  • Review any automated notes against the original passage and teaching.
