LISTEN. REFLECT. REMEMBER.

Bible Study Notes — Private Notebooks & Smart Notes

A useful note helps you return to the passage and remember what you learned. ConnectNOU supports private verse reflections and optional live-session notebooks, each connected to your own study.

Choose the right place for your notes

Use My Study Room when you are reading a Bible chapter and want to save a reflection on a particular verse. A question about a word, a connection to an earlier chapter, or one practical response can all make useful verse notes. Sign in to keep this work in your account.

Use a study notebook when you want to revisit notes from a live teaching session. Personal notebooks and verse notes serve different purposes: one follows a conversation, while the other stays beside the passage you are reading. Neither collection is a public directory.

How optional Smart Notes works

During a live Bible study, the host first allows transcription of their own microphone. Each participant independently chooses whether to turn on Smart Notes and selects English, French, Haitian Creole, or Spanish for their notes. Turning on the host’s transcription does not force every participant to use it.

Audio sections are sent to Cloudflare for processing and are not saved by ConnectNOU. Automated transcripts and notes can misunderstand names, words, and references. Check a quoted verse against the Bible and compare an important teaching point with the speaker’s actual explanation.

Turn a transcript into a useful notebook

After the session, open your personal notebook to review its sections. Edit the wording, highlight an important idea, and add a reflection in your own words. Download the notes when you need a separate local copy. Signed-in participants can return to their saved notebooks from their account.

Keep the biblical text distinct from the speaker’s explanation and your own response. A short note with a clear reference is often easier to revisit than a long transcript without context.

  • Passage: Which chapter or verse was being discussed?
  • Main idea: What was the teaching’s central point?
  • Question: What do you still need to understand?
  • Response: What is one practical step to take?
  • Follow-up: Which reference should you check before the next study?

Privacy and returning to your work

Your personal notebook belongs to your account. Public feature guides and the search sitemap do not include the contents of your notebooks or verse notes. Sign in to the same account when returning on another device. Guests should download their notes before leaving the live session.

If saving has not finished or the page shows an error, keep the tab open and check the message. Keep a downloaded copy when you need an independent record. Review notes before sharing them, particularly when a study includes personal prayer requests or information about other people.
